We all start somewhere…



This month I decided to start from scratch and take part in the BodyRock TV 30 Day Challenge Fit test.  I’ve been traveling, and working like crazy, and while I’ve managed to make time for fitness, I don’t feel as strong as I was a few months ago…  As I packed my suitcase yesterday (yet again), I was reminded how easy it is to take fitness with me, and decided to start at the beginning, if you will.

Now, I of course understand that my level of fitness is different than other people’s.   (My concept of “out of shape” is different as well.)  The rad thing is that BodyRock recognizes this too!  They now offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced versions of their work-outs, and even included a body weight only option this week, for those who do not have equipment.

Due to travel and cross-training,  I won’t be keeping up with each day the May Challenge, but I did download it to my iPad, for those days I need a little something  extra.  I grabbed it from the BodyRock TV FaceBook page today before my flight…


Here’s what I did yesterday:

Set your timer to 10 seconds rest & 50 seconds work.  Complete the following circuit 3 times through:
1) Push-Up, Burpee & Tuck Jump

2) Push-Up With Jump Out Legs

3) Elevated Tricep Dips

4) Bike Abs L & R, Reverse Crunch, 

with Split & Touch Through
My reps in the first round: 
1)  16
2) 20
3) 20
4) 20

I more or less stayed at those numbers.  The technique definitely got a little dodgy by the end, but I tried my best to keep it in check, and took small breaks during the sets to get through the work-out.  

My reps in the final round:
1)  12
2) 15
3) 16
4) 20

The first step is always the hardest… But you find your stride quicker than you think
