Tita Tuesday – Ink N Iron 2014

Ink N Iron
International Doughnut Day fell on another very special occasion this year… the Ink N Iron Kustom Kulture Festival!
I headed down to Long Beach, California for the 4th year in a row with Rockstar photographer Steve Prue, to cover the event for Rebel Ink, Skin & Ink, and Urban Ink Magazines.
While on site I took in some great acts, the highlight of course being Suicidal Tendencies!  Sid came in from LA specifically to catch their show, so we bounced around to “Pledge Your Allegiance” and snapped some pics.
Ink N Iron is a great event for catching up with industry friends, and meeting new ones!
It was at this show last year that I met ThugxWife & her talented hubby Jake Schroeder a.k.a. HairynScary of Ink Dynasty in Pismo Beach, California.
It also marks my first year of friendship with Audrey Precious, and her husband Chris Glass, whose site “Preciously Mine” is a constant source of inspiration.

Of course us ladies got together for a little Canuck canoodling in the ships stern.

Also at the show was Jenningz Suicide, who I met briefly last year, but had the pleasure of running around with more this time around.  Jenningz has been on tour with the SuicideGirls burlesque show for the past season, so I’m sure you’ve seen her colourful posts popping up all around the Internet.  Lemme tell you – they haven’t got anything on how colourful, and fun she is in real life!
Two of my favourite people to connect with, Chopperdave & his lovely wife Paola joined Steve Prue and I for another of my favourite things… bacon breakfast, in San Pedro.

As usual I made my annual trip into downtown Long Beach to pick up cupcakes from my beloved Frosted Cupcakery!
Don’t worry.  I shared. Especially with Vivid, who underwent two full days of tattoo time on her amazing new back piece!
In the events final hours, I had the amazing opportunity to spend time with ThugxWife, and Jake as he gave us super fun, matching tattoos.

In all the events I’ve had the pleasure of attending over the years, I have to say that Ink N Iron has easily become my favourite.  It provides the perfect place to meet up with my talented friends from all over California, and gives us the opportunity to enjoy terrific art, music, and tattoos at the same time!  As I mentioned in last year’s post, the friendships I’ve forged there have grown stronger each year, and my life wouldn’t be nearly as rich, or entertaining without each and every one of them.

Do you love it?!?
