“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse, and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.” – Desmond Tutu
A black square, or pretty infographic on Instagram is not enough.
If you have been following along you’ll already know that the “Du Jour” in my handle is reflective of the many things I do, take on, and participate in. One day isn’t always like the next, and now is no different. From athletics to modelling, travel to culture, writing to photos, my site has always been a mixed bag of what I’m up to and into. As such, I am taking this opportunity to make space for information relating to the Black Lives Matter and Civil Rights movements that are currently being shared and fought for all over the world. It means I am committed to broadening the topics covered here, and looking to diversify my catalogue of work, contributors, and friends and followers too.
Before moving ahead with posts that highlight my own work, collaborations, or interests, it is important to me to share the causes that I believe in, and resources to assist and educate. Here is what I am leaning into right now.
I am committed to being an ally.
I am committed to listening.
I am committed to learning more about history, understanding the Civil Rights movements both here and away from home, and to sharing not just my research and understanding, but the questions and comments that these actions raise.

A return to normal is not acceptable because what came before did not serve everyone.
The road ahead will be a long one.
I am in it for the long haul.
Do you love it?!?
(If not, get the fugg out.)
